With the current spate of unusually bad weather, Tasman Bay has some new temporary occupants, oil industry tugs and support vessels.
Although the drillship Noble Discover is about 35km’s away from where this photo was taken,
courtesy of its size, you can still comfortably see it across the other side of the bay.
They’re all there to basically “ride out the storm.”
The Nelson Mail also reported on the situation last Friday.
